Families across Colorado are ready to get into the full swing of the holiday season and between Christmas tree hunting, gift shopping, and decorating there is plenty to do. But perhaps there are those who wish to take a breather from the holiday rush and enjoy some festive holiday light displays. Colorado Public Radio has compiled a list of places throughout the state for families to experience such displays. Some of these events have already started or concluded but many more are still ongoing all the way to the beginning of January so there is still time to enjoy some beautiful light displays this season.

Hosted at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is the annual Camp Christmas event. This annual event has become a holiday tradition that welcomes merry goers of all ages with a variety of festivities including; a classic carousel, hot cocoa, visits with Santa, and sweet treats. Camp Christmas is still ongoing until December 18th from Tuesday to Sunday from 4pm to 9pm. Afterwards it will go on from Monday to Saturday December 19th-24th.

Returning this season to the Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra in Loveland is Winter Wonderlights. Each night from 4:30pm to 9pm, visitors can walk through the park and enjoy 150,000 lights including holiday string lights, twinkling bulbs, LED mappable snowflakes, illuminated African stone sculptures, as well as 30-minute music and light shows. Winter Wonderlights this year are still ongoing until Sunday, January 1, 2023.

At Elitch Gardens comes the annual Luminova Holidays making a return as well this holiday season. Holiday goers will be treated to; over four million dazzling lights; 65 ft. Christmas tree; 25 ft. snowman that never melts; a 300 ft. candy cane tunnel; ornaments and presents scaling over 16 ft. tall; light swings; a huge wall of lights; rides on Elitch Gardens attractions; holiday wishes with Santa; and many more. Luminova Holidays is ongoing until January 1, 2023 and open from 5pm to 9pm with some nights open until 10pm.

This is just a small list of places hosting their own Christmas light shows this season. If you can think of more events that are not listed then make sure to send an email elane@cpr.org. Regardless, hopefully you and your loved ones will find the time to relax and enjoy the festivities this year however you choose to celebrate.
